Welcome to Accounting Student Organizations

BETA ALPHA PSI is an international honorary organization for accounting students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the accounting field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals; and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919. By 2004, there were nearly 255 chapters on college and university campuses with over 200,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi’s formation. The Epsilon Omicron Chapter at Auburn University was chartered in 1978. Dr. C. Wayne Alderman served as the first faculty advisor of Beta Alpha Psi at Auburn University.

Jump Start Your Career Opportunities by Joining FLS!
The Financial Leadership Society (FLS) is a business organization open to outstanding freshmen, sophomores, and first semester juniors who are considering accounting as a major and have met the following requirements:

• Freshmen must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or if a first semester freshman have a very strong high school scholastic record.

• Sophomores must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 in any accounting course taken.

• First semester juniors who are currently enrolled in Intermediate Financial Accounting I must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 in any accounting course taken (excluding ACCT 2990).

FLS members are invited to all Beta Alpha Psi professional meetings and “Meet the Firms” nights in the fall and spring. Membership in FLS and attendance at these meetings and events will give you invaluable insight on opportunities in accounting. In addition, FLS can give you a jump start on making contacts for internships.

FLS is the pathway to Beta Alpha Psi, and Beta Alpha Psi is the ULTIMATE pathway to internship and fulltime employment opportunities.
