The Department hosts four student organizations in Aviation Management and one in Logistics.
Alpha Eta Rho:
Alpha Eta Rho is a collegiate fraternity founded to bring together those students having a common interest in the field of commercial aviation. The first AHP was organized on April 10, 1929 at the University of Southern California. Since then, alumni membership has grown to exceed 35,000 members throughout the US and abroad. There are currently approx. 60 active chapters and another 50 that are inactive. AHP serves to actively associate interested student of aviation with leaders and executives in the industry.
Our philosophy and goals are as follows:
1. to further the cause of aviation in all its branches
2. to instill in the public mind a confidence in aviation
3. to promote contacts between the students of aviation and those engaged in the profession
4. to promote a close affiliation between the students of aviation for the purpose of education and research
Auburn University's Gamma Chapter of AHP was established on December 5, 1969. Since then, it has grown into a productive and rewarding fraternity with a membership of 90 students in the past year. AHP hosts several guest speakers throughout the academic year. AHP also organizes industry field trips and participates in several campus projects including Organization Day. AHP also works concessions at school football games and is involved in making floats for homecoming.

War Eagle Flying Team:
The War Eagle Flying team is an active member of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA). It competes once a year at the regional SAFECON Competition (Region IX), which is sponsored by NIFA. If the team places in the top two or three (depending on the number of schools competing) during the regional competition, it is invited to the national competition level. The team spends the majority of its time preparing for the competition. However, the team also helps put on the Annual Auburn Fly-in, go on field trips to museums and air traffic control centers, and promote aviation safety through education. The War Eagle Flying Team at Auburn serves as a way for pilots to better their piloting and safety skills and better understand the aviation industry.

Women in Aviation:
The local chapter of Women in Aviation functions as a way to provide young women in the aviation field with mentoring and networking opportunities. Membership in the local chapter has steadily increased since its inception is currently at 40 members. Last year, the main event the local chapter was involved in was the 12th Annual International Women in Aviation conference, which was held in Reno, Nevada. The conference offered an exciting array of speakers, exhibitors, and special events. The majority of local membership attended the national conference. Also, last year, the Auburn chapter started a program called "AvKids." Women in Aviation members visit local high schools and primary schools and discuss opportunities in the aviation profession with students in an effort of sparking interest in aviation amongst the community's younger adults. The Auburn University chapter of WIA also invites several guest speakers throughout the year, particularly female aviation professionals to give lectures to its members. Having speakers from diverse fields in aviation helps students appreciate the multidimensionality of our field and the immensity of opportunities that exist in it for professional growth and development.
