Distance Programs

MBA - Distance

About

The College of Business has several distance learning options for graduate students whose personal and professional commitments make standard on-campus degree programs hard to manage. The College offers five master’s degree programs that may be completed with minimal time spent on campus.

DISTANCE MASTER OF ACCOUNTANCY

Students in this program may complete their degrees in two years while working full-time. Both distance and on-campus students follow the same curriculum and receive the same accredited degree.
Students are required to be on campus during the residency period, a 4-1/2-day period near the end of the course.

DISTANCE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS

This degree may be completed through distance and online coursework. Students do not have to spend any time on campus. The program allows students to design a personalized course of study. Distance students typically complete the degree in just under two years.

DISTANCE MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Students who choose the distance option of the Auburn MBA have the same academic features as the on campus students. Students enrolled in the distance MBA see the same lectures, have the same professors, exams and projects as the full time, on campus program. This AACSB accredited program offers a convenient delivery method that allows students to complete their degree with no work stoppage. If for any reason you are transferrred from your current location, this degree option is portable and can go where you go.

Students in the online MBA at Auburn University can select to begin their studies in either the fall or spring semesters.

Students can choose up to 6 specializations in the online MBA. Those offerings are finance, marketing, management, information systems, supply chain and business analytics. We also have dual degree options with Management Information Systems (MSIS) and MSBA-Finance where you can achieve a second masters of business degree online since both of these programs offer a distance option as well.

Students enrolled in the distance MBA are required to come to campus one time for a 3 day residency. This visit to campus happens at the very end of your time in the program and revolves around the Case Study Analysis Presentation.

The online MBA is atleast 36 credit hours to completion and the current cost of the degree is $750 per credit hour.

Students accepted to the distance MBA generally score between 550-600 on the GMAT. We do a holistic review of the applications so we review a number of factors when deciding on admission for a candidate.

There are several prerequisites that must be satisfied prior to beginning the Auburn MBA. Those prerequisites are Calculus, Statistics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Principles of Business Finance, Principles of Marketing and Principles of Management.

You may be accepted for admission prior to the completion of these prerequisites, but they will need to be satisfied by the beginning of the academic term in which you plan to enroll.

The Auburn MBA office has ways you can satisfy the business portion of these prerequisites. Please email our office at mbadmis@auburn.edu for more information. Follow us on Twitter @auburnMBAonline
