Associate or Assistant Professor

Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing anticipates a tenure-track opening at the Assistant or Associate Professor level contingent upon budget approval effective Fall 2013. The position requires a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in marketing or closely related field on the date of employment. Primary instructional need is personal selling.  Candidates must demonstrate both a willingness and ability to teach personal selling.  The ability to teach a variety of other marketing classes is important.  A demonstrated marketing research record or strong research potential is also needed.  We seek individuals demonstrating strong research and teaching skills.  Excellent communication skills are required.  Candidates with prior teaching and research experience at the Assistant or Associate Professor level as well as fresh doctorates and ABDs may apply.  If an ABD is hired, then it will be at the instructor level under the condition that Ph.D/DBA must be conferred by May 15th of the following year.

Assistant Professor

School of Accountancy

The School of Accountancy is seeking to fill one full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position, contingent upon budget approval, beginning Fall 2013.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Successful applicants must possess a doctorate in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution prior to the date of employment.  The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.  Excellent communication skills are required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

While all areas of teaching and research will be considered, the areas of immediate need are financial and AIS.  Candidates must have strong research credentials/potential and will be expected to publish in scholarly journals.  The faculty member is expected to contribute in instruction, research, and service/outreach/extension.  Candidates with professional certification are desired.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer

Business Analysis

Aviation and Supply Chain Department

Position:  The Auburn University College of Business is seeking qualified candidates for a non-tenure track teaching faculty position in Business Analytics.  The position can be filled as a lecturer/senior lecturer depending on the background and experience of the candidate.  This new nine-month position is designed to support a growing presence in Business Analytics education in Auburn’s College of Business. 

Responsibilities:  The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate and teach a two semester sequence in undergraduate Business Analytics courses that is required for all College of Business majors. The candidate will be expected to bring innovation, technology, and leadership to these newly developed courses within the College of Business.  Teaching other courses in Analytics at the undergraduate and/or MBA level may be required.  Salary is commensurate with experience. Teaching load will be three courses per semester, which includes course development and course management activities.

Job Qualifications:  Because this is a teaching intensive position, candidates should have a track record of excellence in teaching.  Credentials and experience appropriate to academically qualified status (e.g., Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Statistics, Management Science, Decision Sciences, Information Technology, or a related area) or professionally qualified status (e.g., related graduate degree, and relevant practical experience at a senior level) are a requirement.  Experience with educational technologies, instructional design methodologies, and creating interdisciplinary courses is strongly desired.
