Professional Activities:
Dr. Carr is an Alumni Professor of Management (MIS) in the College of Business, and Director of the Partnership for Information and Telecommunications Management at Auburn University, Alabama. Before completing his doctorate in Information Systems, he had spent 21 years in industry, the last nine of which were active in analysis, design, and consulting on computer-based pricing and proposal monitoring systems. His research interests include the support for end-user computing and network security. Dr. Carr has published in Management Information Systems Quarterly, Data Base, Information & Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Systems Management, and Data Management. He published Data Communications & Network Security with Irwin/McGraw-Hill Publishing (2006) (co-author Charles Snyder), The Management of Business Telecommunications with Irwin/McGraw-Hill Publishing (1997, 2002) (co-author Charles Snyder), and The Management of Network Security with Prentice Hall (2008) (co-author Charles Snyder & Bliss Bailey). Dr. Carr's teaching is focused on data communications and network security.
