Professional Activities:
Dr. Godwin's research focuses on financial reporting and accounting choices and how these affect market prices. He has investigated these issues in traditional financial markets as well as other unique settings such as betting markets. His research has been published in numerous journals such as Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance ; Journal of Business Finance & Accounting; Issues in Accounting Education; Journal of Risk and Insurance ; and Accounting Horizons. His favorite research study is entitled 'Testing Efficiency Across Markets: Evidence from the NCAA Basketball Betting Market.' Dr. Godwin teaches primarily financial accounting at the principles level. For his classes, he has developed multi-media materials that students use to significantly improve their performance. He also teaches in the College's Executive MBA programs. He has won numerous teaching awards during his tenure at Auburn. Dr. Godwin has served as Director of the School of Accountancy since August, 2003.
