Dan Gropper's research has appeared in a variety of leading journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Applied Financial Economics, Managerial and Decision Economics, Journal of Economic Education, and Academy of Management Learning and Education. His research has been funded by both the U.S. Government and the private sector, and has been cited by researchers at Universities around the world. Dr. Gropper currently teaches courses in Economic Strategy for MBAs and Executive MBAs. During his administrative tenure, Auburn's MBA program offerings have grown extensively, adding an Executive MBA, a Physician's Executive MBA, and custom corporate programs for Jostens and Pratt & Whitney. He is a member of Mensa, Phi Kappa Phi, and several other academic honorary societies. Before coming to Auburn, Dr. Gropper spent several years working with the consulting firm of Economic Research Services and the Florida Public Service Commission. He has served as a consultant to private firms and government agencies, primarily regarding compensation and personnel issues. In addition to appearing as a commentator on radio and television, Dr. Gropper has been quoted in such well known publications as Newsweek, Financial Times, U.S. News and World Report,and Forbes.
