Professional Activities:
Professor Marshall's research addresses issues in corporate finance, primarily the examination of financing decisions by managers and a variety of issues surrounding initial public offerings. She has published articles in leading journals including the Journal of Business, Financial Management, and the Journal of Financial Research. Dr. Marshall is a member of The Wall Street Journal Educational Advisory Board. Each week her review of a relevant article in finance, including discussion questions, is distributed to over 3,000 finance faculty. Professor Marshall has made over 25 presentations at national and regional professional meetings. She was the 1998 recipient of the American Association of Individual Investors Competitive Paper Award, offered through the Academy of Financial Services. Dr. Marshall has over nine years of teaching experience, including MBA and EMBA classroom experience, primarily in the areas of international and corporate finance. She has received recognition for teaching excellence at Georgia State University and Auburn University. Dr. Marshall has nine years of relevant business experience, including various aspects of financial reporting, tax research, acquisition analysis, and capital budgeting with a Fortune 500 firm. Professor Marshall is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Management Association, and the Eastern Finance Association.
