Professional Activities:
Dr. Mitra has published numerous articles, some of which have appeared in journals such as Management Science, Decision Sciences, Journal of the American Statistical Association, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Computers and Operations Research, Naval Research Logistics, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Quality Engineering, and the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management. He is also the author of the book titled, Fundamentals of Quality Control and Improvement, Third Edition; Wiley, 2009, which is used both nationally and internationally. Dr. Mitra has conducted short courses for professionals in Total Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and certification training in Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and Six Sigma Black Belt. He is listed in several national and international biographical listings, among which are: Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Personalities of America, Men of Achievement, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and Who's Who in American Education. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, Decision Sciences Institute, American Statistical Association, and the American Society for Quality.
