Professional Activities:
As Director of the Thomas Walter Center for Technology Management, Dr. Swamidass directs the Business-Engineering-Technology Program for business and engineering students, and assists the OTT to commercialize engineering inventions. He is author/editor of Innovations in Competitive Manufacturing, AMACOM Books, NY, 2002; Encyclopedia of Production and Manufacturing Management, Kluwer Academic Publishing, Boston , 2000; Cross-Functional Management of Technology: Cases and Readings , Irwin publishers, Chicago, 1996. Dr. Swamidass has published over 80 papers, articles, proceedings, and book chapters on manufacturing management, manufacturing strategy, and technology. He has presented over 40 papers including three keynote speeches at practitioner and industry conferences in India. He has seven years management experience in manufacturing. He served as a consultant to UNIDO to evaluate their investment in multimillion dollar technology projects in India. He is also a member of AOM, DSI, APICS, ASEE, and INFORMS.
