Professional Activities:
Steve Swidler has published articles in derivatives, financial engineering, investments, and financial institutions, and his work has appeared in a number of academic journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Prior to joining the faculty at Auburn, Professor Swidler taught at the University of Texas at Arlington, Southern Methodist University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Rice University. He has also had summer appointments at Victoria University in New Zealand and the Oslo School of Business. Professor Swidler is the recipient of the W. Paul Green Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching, as well as a number of university research awards. In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Swidler has worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and at Lexecon, an economic consulting group. He has been asked to give finance seminars to business leaders, bank executives and government officials around the world. Professor Swidler is a member of the Financial Management Association and the American Finance Association.
