Auburn Technical Assistance Center
provide consultation, business and technical assistance to manufacturers and other
businesses, not-for-profit organizations and government agencies in Alabama and the
Southeast. ATAC is one of ten centers affiliated with the Alabama Technology
Network with a statewide mission.
Blue Ridge Conference on
Leadership is dedicated to enhancing human relations skills in the workplace
via an annual conference at Black Mountain, North Carolina.
Business and Engineering Continuing Education
(BECE) provides continuing education conference short courses, and
professional development programs for a variety of audiences, including professional
engineers, surveyors, specialists working on transportation, environmental and other
technical issues; and business persons. This unit also coordinates the BEST Robotics
Program and Engineering Professional Development and other special outreach offerings.
Center for Ethical Organizational Cultures
facilitates the adoption and maintenance of ethical organizational cultures.
The research focus will include Western Civilization philosophy in developing a methodology
to assess and facilitate the development of organizational cultures.
Center for International Finance and Global
Competitiveness will support research, instruction and outreach activities
relevant to international financial markets and global competitiveness. One major program
within the Center is the Economic Freedom Initiative which supports of the Economic Freedom
of the World index, an annual assessment and ranking of over 140 countries with respect to
their degree of economic freedom.
Lowder Center for Family Business and
Entrepreneurship combines outreach programming and academic studies in the area
of family business. Efforts are directed at being responsive and proactive to the needs of
family businesses, and to students interested in studying the dynamics of families in
business.
Small Business Development Center
services enable entrepreneurs to establish or expand their small
businesses, find business solutions and provide programs in training and consultation.
Thomas Walter Center for Technology
Management is an interdisciplinary umbrella organization affiliated with the
College of Business, the College of Engineering and other academic units. The Center fosters
programs to help private sector organizations increase their effectiveness through better use
and understanding of technology.
