About the Center for Ethical Organizational Cultures
Mission of the Center: Facilitate the adoption and maintenance of ethical organizational cultures. Although the primary mission of the Center is research, the activities of the Center will also contribute to the instruction and outreach missions of Auburn University.
Uniqueness: The Center is unique in that there are no similar ethical organizational culture research centers known to exist in the United States.
Focus: Center efforts will be focused on private-sector, non-profit, and public-sector organizations.
Activities:
- Develop a methodology for assessing ethical organizational cultures.
- Develop a program for implementing ethical cultures in organizations.
- Develop case examples for use in teaching ethics.
- Disseminate center findings through conferences held at Auburn University and at meetings of national and regional professional associations.
- Disseminate center findings through professional publications.
- Coordinate center programs with Eminent Scholar in Ethics activities.
- Inform College of Business alumni and friends of the center's ethics activities through the Shareholder.
- Develop Ph.D. trained professors to conduct research on organizational ethics and develop curricula for teaching organizational ethics at Auburn University and other university systems.
- Solicit additional sponsors.
- Promote development of similar programs at other universities.
