College of Business Scholarships

In addition to those scholarships awarded at the University level, the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business awarded over 380 students more than $490,000 in scholarship and fellowship dollars for the 2013-2014 academic year. With the exception of the School of Accountancy scholarships, all college-wide and departmental undergraduate scholarships are awarded in the Spring for the following academic year and all students must apply through the Auburn University Scholarship Manager (AUSOM).

The Harbert College of Business is fortunate to have many of our scholarships and fellowships funded by the generous donations of alumni and corporations.  Please take a moment to look at the scholarships awarded through their contributions this year.

For the 2013-2014 academic year, the average Harbert College of Business scholarship awarded $1,385 with a range of $500-$5000.  Most awards are eligible for renewal annually provided the student continues to meet their scholarship criteria and reapply each year.  All needed information is contained in the scholarship application and students are notified of their award in early April.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I be considered for a Harbert College of Business scholarship?
Incoming freshmen accepted for admission to Auburn University and enrolled and transfer students must apply through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM) to receive consideration for university-wide and Raymond J. Harbert College of Business scholarships. AUSOM’s online features and benefits allow students to search, review requirements, apply and accept awards for available scholarship opportunities, all within one easy-to-use site.

Do I have to demonstrate financial need to receive a scholarship?
No.  While many of the college’s scholarships do require a student to demonstrate financial need, there are also many that simply require the student be enrolled in the College and excel academically.

What are the criteria for College of Business scholarships?
All HCOB scholarships are donor funded, meaning the criteria varies by scholarship according to the preferences stated by the donor.  Criteria may be as simple as a current student in the HCOB with a 3.0 GPA or specific to students from a particular town, high school or pursuing a certain major.  In short, scholarships are matched to the students who most closely fit the criteria for each individual scholarship.

When will I find out if I have been selected to receive a scholarship?
All applicants are notified if they have received an award in April and the scholarship is credited to the recipient's bursars account 10 days before the start of fall semester.

Where can I apply?
The application for HCOB scholarships can be found at the Auburn University Scholarship Manager (AUSOM) website.
