Dublin Business Internship Program


SUMMER 2010

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Upgrade your resume, earn AU credits and join students from universities around the country, interning in Dublin. Placements guaranteed in a professional practice internship through EUSA (European Study Abroad and Dublin Placement Limited). The program includes one week of orientation and on-site interviews and six weeks of internship experience. All work assignments will be in Dublin, Ireland.

Program Start and End Date:

June 5, 2010 (leave Auburn) - July 24, 2010 (Return to Auburn).

Objectives of the Program:

This program provides hands-on internship experience in a major business area, for 32 hours per week - Monday through Thursday each week. All students will work with an Au Faculty supervisor in their major business area along with the program directors - to discuss their progress in their internship. An AU International Marketing or Promotion Strategy course will also be offered in Dublin.

Academic Program & Requirements:

Courses offereed include: Internship credit (3 hours), Marketing elective (3 hours)*

Open to Juniors & Seniors in the College of Business and those with Business Minors and an ungapped GPA of 2.75 or higher. *Student must complete all AU, College of Business, and course requirements to receive academic credit.

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS:

Students will be required to have a valid Passport, good for 6 months after they return to the US after their internship. Additional entry permit and visa requirements will be determined for each individual student per Ireland immigration policies (supporting paperwork and documentation provide by Auburn University and EUSA). Program Fee: $7,500

Includes:
  • Housing(Nice, newer student residences with individual bedroom in a shared 2 bedroom flat)
  • Orientation, Interviews, Placement, and Basic Social Programs with EUSA
  • Walking tour of Dublin during orientation week
  • 1 Day excursion to Belfast
  • Irish writer's pub crawl and tour
  • Transportation on Dublin buses for program duration.
  • Cell phone rental(free local within Dublin and incoming international calls)
Not Included (Must be provided by student):
  • Airfare to Dublin and return
  • Meals (there is a kitchen in each flat)
  • Passport, VISA
  • Personal expenses and other travel or entertainment
Auburn Abroad Fee: $540

Required for all AU students for AU Study Abroad Programs to cover Emergency Insurance for the program participant (but this is not a substitute for major medical insurance). This fee is billed separately on student's Bursar Account.

Living Arrangements/Housing/Meals/Transportation:

Students live in student residences in Dublin, with easy access to Dublin bus lines and necessary amenities. Travel on Dublin's bus network for the duration of the program is included in program fee. Each Fully furnished student flat has a kitchen with modern cooking facilities, high speed Ethernet connections, phone lines, and basic weekly housekeeping. Meals not included in program fee.
