Students - Career Education and Professional Development

Many times students ask, “What careers go with my major…?” or “What sorts of things are expected of Sales Representatives?” In response, the OBSP sponsors 2-3 events each semester to assist students with their questions related to a specific career field (“Careers in Pharmaceutical Sales”), or to professional development topics (“Dress for Success”). Both types of activities are structured to provide basic information and to elicit questions from students as to their specific questions. See the OBSP Calendar for events this semester.

Other venues for employers to share their stories on their firms / industries / career fields as either individual presentations, or as part of a panel of employers may come in classes and / or in student organizations. Watch your class syllabuses, the bulletin boards in the Lowder Building, and keep watch on your own specific student organization’s calendar for upcoming events. OBSP would be glad to assist you with contacting speakers to come speak to your organization about a topic of interest.
