Experiential learning has been determined to be one of the most effective forms of education. The College encourages on-campus visits from alumni and friends as a means of providing current students the opportunity to meet with leaders in business through formal and informal settings.
Robert and Charlotte Lowder Visiting Executive-In-Residence Program This program was established in 1996 for the purpose of providing students and faculty with an opportunity to interact with prominent executives for an open exchange of views on current issues and to gain insight into the business world. Lowder, a 1964 graduate of the AU College of Business and a member of the AU Board of Trustees, is CEO of Colonial BancGroup.

James T. Pursell, Sr. Distinguished Fellow in Management Ethics
Established in 2000, this program was established in recognition of those who have distinguished themselves by promoting ethical values in the management of private and public-sector organizations. Pursell is a 1952 graduate of the AU College of Business.
Aviation Management Distinguished Speaker Series
This program, established in 2000, provides a medium through which students have an opportunity to interact first hand with leaders of the aviation and logistics industries.
Distinguished Leaders in Government and Business Series
Established in 1999, this program helps graduate business students to understand the influences of government on business. The program is sponsored by the MBA Office.

This program, established in 2004, allows information technology executives from various industries to provide to our students insights on the use of technology in their respective industry.

This program was established in 2003 to provide students with a learning forum to discuss topical issues, problems, concerns and success in small business management. The program is sponsored by the Lowder Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurship.
