Professor Marshall's research addresses issues in corporate finance,
primarily the examination of financing decisions by managers and a variety of
issues surrounding initial public offerings (IPO). She has published articles
in leading journals including the Journal of Business, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial
Management, Financial Review, and
the Journal of Financial Research. Dr. Marshall is currently
Co-Director on a grant under the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI
Business and International Education (BIE) Program. The project,
“Advancing Trade with Latin America,” focuses on fostering international trade
between the State of Alabama and Latin America through the development of
faculty, students and the business community at large. The project is the
result of a collaborative effort between Auburn's College of Business and
College of Liberal Arts, the Alabama Development Office, and Tuskegee
University. Professor Marshall has made over 25 presentations at national
and regional professional meetings. She was the 1998 recipient of the
American Association of Individual Investors Competitive Paper Award, offered
through the Academy of Financial Services. Dr. Marshall has over fifteen
years of teaching experience, including MBA and EMBA classroom experience,
primarily in the areas of international and corporate finance. She has
received recognition for teaching excellence at Georgia State University and
Auburn University. Dr. Marshall has nine years of relevant business experience,
including various aspects of financial reporting, tax research, acquisition
analysis, and capital budgeting with a S&P 500 firm. She is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Management
Association, and VP-Programs Elect for the Eastern Finance Association.
